The digital video series was part of a broader priority that I led to establish a partnership with PBS Digital Studios, a national PBS platform primarily on YouTube, to attract younger audiences. I worked with the head of content and the production team at KCET and external partners to develop and pitch series ideas to Digital Studios.
Digital Studios gave this series the green light for 8 episodes, along with companion social media videos. I developed the series pitch with Hip-Hop documentarian Marguerite de Bourgoing as a hybrid explainer and documentary series.
I further led the series’ development and production, including creative direction, editorial development, the casting of the host and subjects, and episode ideas. I also managed the production team and the relationship with the partner.
